Actually, two good things for today. First off, I’ve updated the 2025 Paintings tab – even in the very middle of the Tilt-a-Whirl that was the end of Pyrite U, I continued to paint and I’ve crossed the halfway mark on my goal of creating 100 paintings this year. Go check it out, would you?
Second, yesterday I went to a Taylor Swift party and it was fabulous! You may or may not like Taylor’s music, but this is MY “One Good Thing” post, and I quite enjoy big stretches of her carefully-curated career, so I had a royally good time. Her music played constantly, people made and swapped friendship bracelets, a Swifty version of Cards Against Humanity was played, and the copious amounts of yummy snacks all had Taylor-inspired pun names. (I especially enjoyed the non-alcoholic “Look What You Made Me Juice” and the “Meat(balls) Me at Midnight” and, although I thought the “Char-cu-TAY-rie” board was a bit of a stretch, I appreciated the effort.)
Never overlook the subversive power of joy, dear Divas. Whatever it is that you enjoy, celebrate it. Spend an entire day immersed in it, invite friends to join you, start a podcast about it. Joy is in short supply for so many people just now. Spread yours around.
