One Good Thing

Yesterday, I officiated a wedding. I’ve done a few of those over the years – sometimes, for all sorts of reasons, people don’t want a traditional church-type wedding. I enjoy working with couples to help them craft a meaningful ceremony that allows them to express their devotion and commitment to each other and it’s always an honor to serve in that way.

It was a joyous occasion and a touch larger than most of the ones I’ve done — there were bridesmaids, groomsmen, a too-cute-to-believe flower girl, and two boys serving as “ring security,” complete with locked cases and dark sunglasses.

The bride was stunning and the groom was handsome and just a little nervous.

There was a wonderful dinner (whoever decided appetizers should include grilled cheese sandwich fingers and tomato soup shooters was a GENIUS!), toasts, cake, and dancing.

It was a marvelous beginning to a life-long adventure.

And that’s a Good Thing.
