These “One Good Thing” posts are all about being on the lookout for little glimmers of joy, optimism, and/or fun in everyday life. It’s always there; I just don’t always try hard enough to tune into that frequency.
But today’s was easy. A shiny new 7-11 (of all things) that’s located smack in my way to work held its Grand Opening today. You couldn’t miss it — just look for the two-story high and inflatable Slurpee on top of the canopy sheltering the gas pumps!
A trivial thing to celebrate, maybe. But getting a fistful of coupons for free Slurpees and coffee are way better for my mood than listening to talk radio these days. (Podcasts may save me. I’ve picked out quite a few; I just need to hook up my phone before I leave home.)
Add to that 25 cents of savings on every gallon of gas I buy for the next month-plus, a Gaffney-specific T-shirt, good 80s music, AND a spin of the lucky wheel and I say it’s a Good Thing!
