One Good Thing

This storm, which looks like one for the record books, is coming and it looks like it’s starting tomorrow afternoon.

The house is stocked with provisions, both practical and fanciful. (For the Furry Overlords, as well, fear not!) 🐈

Mustang Sally has a full tank and is snuggled under her heavy turnout blanket for the duration.

Prescriptions are picked up and other errands run, all while trying to stay cheerful and seeing folks respond well to that.

Gas logs and a gas water heater should have us in decent shape if power lines come down. 🛁

We’ll put the freezer contents in critter-proof tubs in an outbuilding if necessary.

The charging bricks are good to go, as are lanterns, a grinder, and a percolator. (This house WILL have coffee!) ☕

Ice melt has been procured – enough rock salt for a Supernatural convention.

The bird feeders are topped off. 🐦

I discovered a nearby puzzle swap. Dropped off two, picked up two. 🧩

And books are a given in this house. 📚

Bread and birthday pastry!

A local coffee shop partners with a bread baker. I was too late for good black bread, but learned how I can pre-order it and picked up a sourdough loaf to go with the chili, stew, and soup I expect to be making tonight and tomorrow before the ice hits. AND the sweet woman gifted us the fancy Boston cream desserts with edible gold leaf for our birthday on Monday! ♥️

We’re as good as we can be. We’ve checked in on family and friends and we’ll all pitch in as needed when we know what we’re dealing with.

And that’s certainly a Good Thing.
