We were ready for whatever the storm threw at us and we got lucky. Most of what came down around us was sleet, which is awful for roads, but tends to not stick to power lines. As long as we have electricity, we’re fine.
My Beloved and I share a birthday and we had decided to view it as a holiday, even before the threat of an ice storm. The homemade cake was yummy and we spent a pleasant day hobby-ing and just hanging out with each other. I tried a complicated painting that involved a myriad of techniques and was bowled over by the results. The cats provided excellent mentorship on not doing much and glaring balefully when awakened from naps.

It was lovely.
