100 Days – Update 2!

I’m twenty days into The 100-Day Art Project. I’ve done a few postcard-sized (4″ x 6″) watercolors that just make me happy with their bright colors and whimsical nature and one of my favorite teachers is currently doing a “Spring Bloom Marathon.” The first one of those lessons is my Day 20 – the Dutch windmill with tulip fields. (That one is a little bigger at 5″ x 8″ and “Puddle Duck” is larger still at 9″ x 12.”) I’m posting these for accountability. It’s not always easy to find time to do even a postcard-sized piece after a day of work and some of these are “better” than others. That’s okay. Showing up is more than half the battle – consistency leads to progress more than just about anything.

With that in mind, I really encourage you to jump on this. If 100 days is too much to contemplate, pick a different number, like 50 or 4. It doesn’t need to be painting. It could be baking or gardening or singing or embroidery or any darn thing you want it to be. Just put nurturing your own creativity on your to-do list.

You’ll be amazed at the results!
