Today’s One Good Thing was discovering a tiny memorial park/garden a few blocks from my office. Named for a prominent African-American citizen, Glymph Memorial Garden recognizes the “Black Business District” of Gaffney. It’s a peaceful, beautiful space that has been very thoughtfully designed – from the mural with family names as roots to the benches thrusting into the pathway as reminders of barriers that these citizens had the find ways over, under, around, and through due to the un-American system of Jim Crow laws.
Really, it’s worth a visit.
