A longer “Bloom” post is coming so I can go into more depth about how I enjoyed my own company whilst my Beloved was away, but for now —
I browsed summer plants yesterday. Not all are in the ground yet – the heat is not something to take lightly – but container gardening is a delight that gets you around that and always look through the clearance rack! Some just need water and a little TLC. I had rooted the center plant (a healthy “Wandering Dude,” which is my new favorite plant name) from a cutting and I really like the two baskets bracketing that. It’s a nice mix of colors, I think.

And once you get going, it’s hard to stop. So I now have petunias by the mailbox, a couple of basil plants, and the aforementioned butterfly bushes. Add a hummingbird feeder (I’ve noticed them darting around the yard) and a little more open space from digging up some of the fast-spreading dog fennel and the front beds start to have real potential!
Bloom, Divas!
