It took a lot of driving through a lot of North Carolina, but I’m down at Wrightsville Beach for a fantastic weekend conference!
I always come home from this one energized and excited about new techniques I’ve learned. Lawyers deal with high levels of stress on a near-constant basis and, as a profession, we don’t always handle it in good, constructive ways. Take a weekend to learn the science of self-care and practice some techniques is a very good thing.
I also started a program called Wondr that is offered through my health insurance. My goal is to put a lot of things I know I should do into practice – from less screen time and more water to cutting down on sugar and getting more sunshine and activity. We’ll see how that goes, but I’m impressed that I’m not eating every sweet that comes near me. Am I being “perfect,” whatever that means?
Not at all. But I’m making small, consistent changes, and I’ll take that as a win!
