Today was unseasonably warm – as in “record-breaking.” Now, I happen to enjoy festive holiday dressing and I have been left scrambling this Christmas. I like Jimmy Buffett’s Christmas Island, but I don’t have the wardrobe to go with it. But it was far too nice to just stay inside (especially with a 30-degreee-plus nose dive forecast for tomorrow), so I crafted an outfit better suited for May than December, changed teh sheets on the bed, shook my head at Jazz choosing the linen closet as the location for his six-hour midday nap, and took off for a day of enjoyable errands.
I started using a paper planner this year. I think it’s a natural progression from years of journaling and I’ve enjoyed setting goals and using different pens, stickers, and quick sketches to my days. Last year, I just happened to find a well-designed planner and bought it without really doing research into the world of planners. Let me tell you – ignorance was bliss on that score! So many options, so much fuss. One of my errands today was to see if I could find something unfussy to work with and I’m glad to report that I came home triumphant.
I also wandered through a pop-up “Yule market” at a local brewery. It was great fun strolling around there – and my May outfit was complimented by several folks who appreciated the attention to detail! I came home with mulling spices, honey, bath salts, and even a mystery box!
Honestly, it was a lovely day.
