One Good Thing

Hello, Divas!

I return to the workaday world tomorrow, so I especially appreciated that the weather conspired to keep me inside today. Yesterday’s excursions were quite a lot of fun, but today (gray, rainy, cold-side-of-cool) was a great day to wrap up Christmas week by staying put.

I enjoy a good day of puttering and here at the end of the year, there’s plenty of puttering to do. My studio needed some attention to become the clean, inviting space I had put such effort into creating so I played music and re-arranged things to suit my taste and the room’s function, even clearing off the chaise longue and making sure things were all kinds of cozy. I spent chunks of the day reading Marie Benedict’s The Queens of Crime, which was a Christmas gift. She’s a writer I always enjoy and this book grabbed my attention from Page One. (The fact that it’s based on truth is also gobsmacking to me. So much history we don’t know . . . plus, I’ve learned about the Ner-A-Car.)

But chief among my accomplishments today was the fact that I put on clean pajamas (also a Christmas gift) and stayed in them all day, adding an apron to cook dinner. (By the way, the book on my pajamas in the picture is one I hope to use as a “guide” for 2026 – a year that I think will benefit from me looking for small joys every day.)

The year draws to a close, Divas. Make sure you put treating yourself well on your “to do” list.
