One Good Thing

Snow is being forecast to begin late tonight and to continue all throughout tomorrow. No ice, no sleet, just gorgeous, fluffy snow.

We hardly ever get that and I’ll admit to being excited by the prospect of seeing a blanket of white muffling the sounds of everyday life. Well, at least until the kids start sledding on everything that will slide. (Oh, who am I kidding? I’ll love that part, too!) I’m hoping to curl up on the porch with thick hot chocolate and watch the world.

To do that tomorrow meant a lot of running around today. I’ve made the decision to stop dyeing my hair, so my fantastic hairdresser gave me a kicky, choppy short cut (pixie-adjacent, I’d say) for the first stage of the growing-out process. I had groceries to pick up, along with a couple of other errands, and by the time I got home and took care of the Furry Overlords, I was ready to be done. My Beloved is gaming tonight, and I decided that meant I could indulge in a few things that just aren’t his cup of dice. So I chopped vegetables (grocery shopping, remember?) and made Thai peanut noodles (which I just love!) and had myself a wonderful noodle dinner while watching KPop Demon Hunters. Maybe that’s to your taste, maybe it’s not, but I thought the movie was an hour and a half of pure fun and Buffy memories. (Plus, I know I can relate to the girls’ chant for much-deserved relaxation – “Couch! Couch! Couch! Couch!” Maybe that’s the mantra for tomorrow . . .)

Moreover, the tiger and the magpie need their own spin-off.

(Hey, this is my 100th “One Good Thing” post! How cool!)
