As I continue to work my way through the 100 Day Art Project, I have to say that I’m glad I picked postcard-sized projects! While a few are larger, I really save those for weekends. After I get home from work and take care of the day-to-day chores that my house and life require, it’s far less daunting to face a 4 x 6 inch piece of paper. I’m trying some different techniques and – even if they don’t “work” the way I’d like them to the first time – persistence is the key. I can get frustrated with efforts for several days in a row, then suddenly, I figure out how much pressure to use to get a light effect or how much space to leave to get a sense of lightness.
It doesn’t happen all at once. But it does happen.
I’m really enjoying some of the spring subjects I’m working with right now. However, I still am intimidated by mixing greens. Yellow plus blue – how hard can it be? Well . . .
