100 Days – Update 7!

Still at it! I’m now in the final month of the 100 Day Art Project and I’m going strong! I am noticing some interesting things – on days where I feel like I “have” to paint (these days usually follow a very full workday), I tend to get “tight,” meaning that I’m literally tense. For me, this settles in my shoulders and I have a death-grip on my brush. As you might imagine, those paintings tend to turn out looking heavy and the paint is less transparent because I’m rushing through the process in between chores. On days where I “get” to paint, I tend to take my time and the results are easier and more thoughtfully joyous.

There’s a lesson in there, I think.

I’m thinking of doing a 100 Day Sale after this project is finished. The postcard pieces will go for a quick $5 (so buy lots of them!) and the larger pieces I’ll need to price accordingly, but I’ll set a ceiling of $50. So do me and my “River of Cream Art Fund” a favor and look through the other 100 Day Updates, won’t you?

Thanks!
