Today’s One Good Thing is taking the time to be creative. I’ve written before about the importance of this – it truly is important to regularly tap into your ability to create – and I find that it’s especially crucial after a prolonged period of stress.
Keep in mind that you don’t need to be “good” at your chosen form of creative expression (whatever that even means); you just need to carve out time for it. Often.
I love watercolor painting and I love the smell of lilacs. So why not combine the two? I got to play with purples and be challenged by how to represent a clear, water-filled glass jar and marvel at the magic a white pen can create.
It doesn’t matter if it’s drawing or pottery or singing or cooking – take a little time today to create something that wasn’t there before.
Do that often enough and you’ll wonder why you didn’t start doing it earlier!
