Today’s One Good Thing is brought to me by friends and patience.
Back in the fall, I asked friends for sturdy plant cuttings – I’m not an especially accomplished gardener, but I like plants. I’d figured out that I could have a few cuttings in the studio (it had started to become more of a home office and this was a step towards reclaiming that space as a room to paint, puzzle, journal, and dream) and keep the tender green things safe from curious cats. And wow! Did I reap a generous garden of gifts!
While a few of the cuttings suffered from my ignorance, most not only survived, but thrived. I carefully moved them from water to small containers, kept notes on who got how much water, and yes, talked gently to them.
And today I repotted them in larger containers!
It’s good to get your hands dirty in this sort of way. Give it a try – I’ll have cuttings to share soon!
